PUSS IN BOOTS
Once upon a time, there was a young boy who lived on the street with his cat. He had no money and wore old clothes. He had little to eat and would scavenge in garbage bags for him and his cat.
One day the cat realised that his master couldn´t cope with this situation any more. So he took a pair of boots a hat and a cape, cleaned them and put them on. From that moment, the cat was known as Puss in boots.
Puss in boots went hunting, captured a wild boar and brought it to the King – “Sir, here is a magnificent wild boar, which belongs to my lord, the Marquis of Carabas, and he told me to offer it to your majesty”. The King was grateful and that night he and his family had roast wild boar for dinner.
The day after, the cat took his boots and went hunting again, and likewise he gave his prey to the King in the name of the Marquis of Carabas.
Puss in boots repeated this abehaviour for several weeks. One day, he was bathing in the river with the young boy when the King and his court passed by. The cat told his master to take off his clothes and jump into the river. Then he started to shout – “Help! Help! My Lord the Marquis of Carabas is drowning!” The King ordered his guards to stop and asked the puss in boots what was going on. “What are you and your Lord doing in the river?”, he said. The cat came up to the King’s carriage and told a long and pitiful story about some thieves who, while his Lord was bathing, had come and carried away all his fine clothes. The King immediately ordered one of the first officers of the household to bring a supply of his finest clothes for the young gentleman.
Then the King invited him and Puss in boots into the royal carriage. When they got inside, the young boy’s gaze fell on the face of the King´s beautiful daughter and they fell in love.
The Princess and the “Marquis” got married. He became a Prince and was thankful to the Puss in boots for the rest of his life.
THE END
