POWERFUL FRIENDSHIP

New Short Story for Kids written by: Jennifer Gonzalez (11 years old – Cuba).

Once upon a time there was a small town where ambition and greed were reigning, and, to make it worse, they did not trust each other.

But there was still hope, friendship hope, due to a real friendship.

Three girls, very different and similar at the same time, were very good friends. Their parents did not want them to be friends because Patrice´s parents were so ambitious; Linda´s parents did not even trust her, and Jen´s were the mayors of the town, they actually created all of that.

She treated each other like sisters anyway.

Granny Mary had a black sheep that she had raised. She had to sell Blacky´s mother because had economic troubles, and had to feed her with milk using an improvised feeding bottle with a teat.

To make Blacky eat better, she had to sat her on her own lap, each morning and each afternoon.

THE BAD WITCH AND THE HAPPY COCKATOO

Elvira, the girl who never trusted, was a witch living in a small village far from the big cities. She used to spend lots of hours practicing her Spells, but she was too hopeless and was not able of casting spells.

She was the youngest daughter of the most important wizard of the small village, everybody used to call her “the bad witch”. She was always groaning and treating the other badly, because they did not accept her, actually she did not accept herself either.

She was one day looking at the clouds through the window, when saw a group of white parrots flying around. They were like dancing at the sky, it was a beautiful choreography, almost perfect.

Elvira realized that one of the white parrots was separated from the group, and was flying faster and more strongly than the others to reach them. Suddenly, the white parrot, tired of trying it, decided to fly to the opposite way, landing on Elvira´s window.
